The truth of the matter is that overall polls are pretty accurate. Right now and we are getting pretty close to the voting Trump is topping all the polls and absent an alien abduction he will be the nominee whether he wins Iowa or not.

Starting next week we will be in the holiday season and traditionally voters do not pay much attention to politics until after Jan 1st. By then it will be so close to the Iowa caucus and NH then SC a contender will have no time to catch up.

It doesn't matter so long as there are enough conservatives running that Trump does not get 8 outright primary majorities. This is why the rules were set up this way. It is, however, possible that Trump could even deny Bush those required 8 majorities in the True Blue GOPe states that the RNC is counting on. The RNC can deny Trump the nomination no matter how he does in the primaries, actually. The RNC is not focusing on winning the Election, only on giving the Nomination the next gope in line. They expect to not win the Election and do not desire to win it.
