Star running back Ezekiel Elliott has apparently played his final home game for No. 3 Ohio State, and he wasn't pleased with the way it went down.
After starting the week in the hospital with a previously undisclosed infection in his leg, the junior returned to the lineup Saturday afternoon, declared himself fully fit and then ripped the play calling in a 17-14 upset loss to No. 9 Michigan State at the Horseshoe.
"How we lost, I just feel like we weren't put in the right opportunity to win this game, we weren't put in the right situations to win this game," Elliott said. "I don't think Michigan State was better than us. They weren't. We didn't execute."
Elliott, a Heisman Trophy candidate, carried the ball just 12 times despite Ohio State struggling mightily to gain any traction with its passing attack in wet, cold, windy conditions as the Buckeyes lost their first regular-season Big Ten game ever under coach Urban Meyer.

Keep talking jack@$$. You may talk yourself down to the third round.
Huge win for my Spartans. With their second string quarterback, no less.
Maybe he’ll be as successful as Maurice Clarett.
What a jerk. He should be suspended next game.
Next thing he’ll have Black Lives Matter marching for better play calling.
Sounds about right.
Uh, Ezekiel, the "problem" with OSU this year is that your team is merely good, but not great. You've played a relatively weak schedule in an over-rated conference, and now it finally shows.
So wipe your tears, you crybaby, and keep fighting.
(I actually think Elliott is a great player and may win the Heisman, but I can't stand crybabyism.)
Black lives matter meets affirmative action. The character shows.
“I actually think Elliott is a great player and may win the Heisman”
Anybody with any decency would never vote someone like this for Heisman, when so many outstanding college kids who play without whining are out there.
HIs coach should bench him on last game against Michigan is Meyer has any decency.
Great kid. Great "college" quarterback.
And a new Defensive Coordinator. I thought they would have problems after losing Pat Narduzzi but they just keep on winning. Hope they do well in the post season.
Baker Mayfield just got a concussion!
Out for the game.
He was unbelievable when he became the first walkon true freshman to ever win as QB; however, not staying with his team and going to Stoop’s win-at-all-costs program would never rate much in my book.
I would go with Boykin at TCU, a phenonemon who adapted as QB after being a wideout
He’d fit right in on some NFL team. Not a winning one, mind you. But one of the owners will waste money on him.
Waste money on him? This guy is a beat and he was 100% spot on. Hose of us that live in Columbus have been ticked about the play calling all year long. He is the best player on the offense and can carry any team with his talent.nsince Hermann left they went away Tim the running game and to their own detriment. This guy is a lock 100 yard if you give him the ball at least 20+ a game. I will not begrudge a player that knows the play calling was god awful because in this instance it was.
I think you’re right. He’s a driven athlete who hates to lose, not a crybaby.
I honestly have no idea who will win the Heisman this season, but Elliott is certainly in the mix.
Fournette, sadly, of LSU is out.
Henry of Alabama is the front runner.
He would be a good fit with Dez Bryant and the Cowboys. Jerry Jones seems to like those types of players.
