"If we put in place a strong E-Verify system and deport criminal illegal aliens, the number of people here illegally will drop significantly, particularly if there's not a continual flow of people coming in illegally," Cruz said.
"At that point, once we've demonstrated that we can solve the problem, then we can have a conversation about what to do about whatever people remain illegally," Cruz added. When asked if that conversation included the potential for a pathway to legal status, he repeated, "We can have that conversation with the American people once we secure the border."

Trump is the one that has promised to bring his “good ones” back and grant them amnesty.
That is the reality that you are trying to dodge.
Trump is a guarantee of amnesty.
.
“”A fool’s lips bring strife, And his mouth calls for blows. A fool’s mouth is his ruin, And his lips are the snare of his soul.”
Proverbs 18:6-7
But I'm sure you do, because Buzzfeed and Politico told you so.
In 2012 Trump called Romney mean spirited for supporting self deportation.
Then again, Cruz agreed:
"Asked about what to do with the people here illegally, however, he stressed that he had never tried to undo the goal of allowing them to stay.
"The amendment that I introduced removed the path to citizenship, but it did not change the underlying work permit from the Gang of Eight," he said during a recent visit to El Paso. Mr. Cruz also noted that he had not called for deportation or, as Mitt Romney famously advocated, self-deportation.

This article was originally printed in the Texas Tribune, the contents of which Cruz's team confirmed and proclaimed themselves still supporters of more than a year later when asked by MSNBC:

Time to put to bed the lie that Cruz was just playing political juijitzu, telling lies just to create a narrative to show that the Democrats/Repubs were lying about the Gang of Eight bill.
Psalm 64:8
“He (God) will turn their own tongues against them and bring them to ruin; all who see them will shake their heads in scorn.”
Republicans didnât have anything going for them with respect to Latinos and with respect to Asians,â the billionaire developer says.
âThe Democrats didnât have a policy for dealing with illegal immigrants, but what they did have going for them is they werenât mean-spirited about it,â Trump says. âThey didnât know what the policy was, but what they were is they were kind.ââ¦
âHe had a crazy policy of self deportation which was maniacal,â Trump says. âIt sounded as bad as it was, and he lost all of the Latino vote,â Trump notes. âHe lost the Asian vote. He lost everybody who is inspired to come into this country.â
When you stop trying to sweep aside or spin Trump’s liberal history and leanings, you can come back to us to find the needle in the haystack when it comes to Cruz.

Every bit as stupid of a comment!

I’m glad that Trump changed his position on illegals from calling Romney mean spirited for advocating self deportation. I don’t have a problem with a candidate who sincerely rethinks a position. I do have a problem with double standards being applied. I like both Trump and Cruz on the issues and think we would be blessed to have either of them (preferably both) leading the country.
Whose tongues is that? Those who seek to smear Ted Cruz?
No problem acknowledging Trump's record, and also that he's moved in the right direction. But Cruz? He had a bad position in 2013; he's lying about that position today; and then contradicts his denials by declaring that legal status is still on the table.
It's not a needle. It's shoved right into your eye, but you like the pain.
.
>> “Cruz wonât rule out legalization for illegals because as far as I know he has always held that position” <<
.
You are a liar of the Lucifer class!

.
>> “Come on, this guy has a Goldman partner raising big bucks from big donors. Heâs avoiding answering because the answer is yes, heâd legalize the 30 million who are here illegally.” <<
.
Wow, another Luciferian class lie!
Hug your daddy.
You are unhinged. Keep saying those kooky things.
Trump is "moving in the right direction", but Ted said something uncool in 2013.
“No weapon that is formed against me shall prosper (succeed); and every tongue that shall rise against me in judgment I shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the LORD, and their righteousness is of Me, saith the LORD.:
Isaiah 54:17
I don’t see a problem here.
It is what I have said all along. FIRST step is secure the borders. Once this is done, we can discuss the rest.
On thing for certain, I would not trust a ‘comprehensive’ immigration bill, no matter who introduced it or sponsored it.
Immigration needs to be fixed one step at a time.
.
>> “Point to the person that has a better plan than Trump” <<
.
That would be Ted Cruz.
He plans to enforce the law and put people like you that hire illegals in jail, and watch the rats scurry back home.
Trump has promised Amnesty to his “Good ones.”
.
Until King Obama arrived that is. Very clever phrasing by you lol.
And the years following, until the election cycle, where he began to just not give an answer at all. "We'll have a CONVERSATION." And what's more infuriating about it is that Cruz's team is lying about it, even though the evidence is readily available.
When Cruz basically calls Rubio a liar when he says that the latter is putting out blatant "falsehoods," Cruz is the one that is proven to be the liar.
And the best reply the "true conservatives" have for this is simply denial and ridicule.
.
>> “You have destroyed your own credibility.” <<
He can’t destroy what he never had, nor desired.
