Related or not, I thought I read that they were shutting down some deep dump waste wells. Despite the evidence, the frickin’ anti frackers are still whining about the well/erf quake connection. And here I thought the quakes were because of that millions of degrees magma caused by glow-bull discombobulation was the culprit.

On the Kansas side, they have shut down some of the deep dump waste wells. They use these wells to dispose of the massive amounts of salt water released by the fracking. The fracking process itself is not being blamed by some for the earthquakes, but rather the subsequent salt water disposal action.

So even though some of these disposal wells have been shut down (as well as the nearby oil production), the earthquakes continue. The 4.1 woke me up at about 1:40AM, as the bed was shaking very noticeably. My cats were awakened as well and had frightened looks on their faces.
