I wonder if these incidents have any correlation with the academic calendar.

Specifically, I wonder if they tend to peak right around the time in the semester when people who can’t cut it realize there’s no hope, they’re going to flunk out totally because they’ve been partying all semester and now its too late to drop the courses they’re flunking.
