From 1929 til about 1965 we didn’t have any real immigration in this country and guess what? We did just fine.
What needs to happen is immigration needs to be totally stopped for at least 24 months until we get a handle on who is here on overstayed visas, round them up and deport them. Get the southern border under control, deport as many Mexicans and Central American illegals as we can find and create some kind of order.
Then maybe we look at letting about no more than 50,000 to 100,000 people a year into the country legally and they would have to pass strict criteria regarding speaking English and having an education or job skills that are desired or needed in our work force.
We absolutely have to stop letting 1plus million people a year into the country. We have a population of 330 million now.
