The Gang of 8 bill passed the senate 68 to 32 with 14 Reps joining the Dems. It was the GOP controlled House and the Freedom/Tea Party Caucus that took down the bill along with millions of American heating up the phone lines. I don’t care what Rush or Levin say, the credit for defeat of the bill goes to the House and to Jeff Sessions who met with the House members and provided a detailed paper on what was wrong with the Gang of 8 bill. NumbersUSA, FAIR, and the Center for Immigration Studies played a major role as well.
What’s wrong with a Trump/Sessions ticket ?

Cruz’s close relationship to House Conservatives was sealed during the Gang of 8 fight. Cruz worked side by side with Sessions and as for the House, Steve King, who just endorsed Cruz, remembers well the role that Cruz had in defeating both that bill and the assault on the 2nd amendment, as well.
