The clip that Vinl provided in this thread from 2011 completely disproves a lot of the B.S. being floated here about Cruz’s position.

"Folks need to be reminded that without Ted Cruz taking the stand that he did, amnesty would already be the law of the land. Both Mark Levin and Rush have pointed that out in the last two weeks."

You're exactly right. These Trump ankle-biters are becoming more and more hysterical when Cruz threads are posted.

There's a reason for that.

I totally agree with your analysis of Ted Cruz. I like Ted but he’s not going to be the nominee. Trump is and he will get more done in DC that Ted could. The republicans in leadership in the Senate hate TEd’s guts. They could care less about working with him.

Trump is a Yenta he will cajole, threaten, say pretty please whatever it takes to get them to go along with him.

"It’s a tactic typical to liberals, too. When losing, attack, insult and then run. Sad to see FReepers adopt it."

That's the truth. I used to spend time in the old AOL political chats, and it's a timeworn leftist tactic.

But then, this isn't the first time we've seen evidence of liberalism from Trump fans.

All of the Reps were against Obama's executive amnesties. I don't find Cruz working with Sessions on this issue as being all that remarkable. Far more telling for Cruz is the Steve King endorsement. I greatly respect and admire Steve King who along with Sessions have been the gold standard on immigration issues. I have worked with both of them on the issue.

I hope Cruz has had an epiphany. I support Trump because I believe he is more electable in the General Election, but I can live with Cruz, which is a big change for me. We must make sure that both stay in the running. Rubio and yes, Carson must be taken down.

The Gang of 8 bill passed the senate 68 to 32 with 14 Reps joining the Dems. It was the GOP controlled House and the Freedom/Tea Party Caucus that took down the bill along with millions of American heating up the phone lines. I don’t care what Rush or Levin say, the credit for defeat of the bill goes to the House and to Jeff Sessions who met with the House members and provided a detailed paper on what was wrong with the Gang of 8 bill. NumbersUSA, FAIR, and the Center for Immigration Studies played a major role as well.

I trust Trump to do what he says he will do.

He says he will expedite the good ones back. Over-and-over he says that.

So I "trust" that this is what he will do.

That's an over-and-back amnesty for 20 million!!!

I have been a Cruz donor since his announcement.

I also recognize that without the cash, the non-establishment candidate loses.

That’s why I’ve thought long and hard about Trump. I’ll support Trump/Cruz to give Trump a chance to be a leader and to give Cruz the ‘next in line’ shot at the White House.

January 2016 he will have three whole years in the Senate.

And many years of public service it the courts preserving your freedom!

What other person(s) with that resume, have become POTUS?

So you advocate NO EXPERIENCE in public service! Smart, very smart! Heck we should elect Ivana she has less than no experience - she would be perfect. - /s>

Do you want to win the WH or prove a point? Can Cruz connect with the average low information voter and attract non-GOP voters? So far, Cruz has not been able to make that connection.

Cruz has been smart enough from the very beginning to understand that Trump is the alpha dog of the race and that it would be far better to work with him than attack or underestimate him. It is far better to freeze out the GOPe candidates and make the choice between anti-establishment candidates. So far, so good.

Anyone else would be a disaster for the country. We don’t need the Uniparty, which is controlled by special interests.
