According to the video available at the link provided at the head of this article --- he was not arrested for outstanding warrants, but instead was told that he did not use his signal (turn indicator) at a prior stop (and I assume, where he must have made a turn) and that his windshield was obstructed from the driver's seat.
There may have been something else going on (it's best to not trust news reports too far) ---but when arrested, and right about when the guy was put into a police vehicle, he was told the reasons for the arrest.
Guess away, assume all you wish -- and don't buy anything you don't need, or want. It's up to you..
Come to think of it, I'm something of a tightwad, myself.
For some reason, the Texas police have been on a very slow learning curve about gun rights. I suspect a lot of the problem originates in some of their many training academies.
They also get more than their fair share of bad apples. Instances of this include the Tulia, Texas “roundup”.

RPD has a huge social media presence and they are followed by people from all over the world. I live in the city next door and I’ve interacted with them many times and they’ve always been friendly.
One afternoon I was out with my husband and he did not slow down when going through a school zone. I pointed out to him that it was a school zone, and he said “but there is nobody around.” The school did look empty.
Then see the lights behind us and he pulled over. It was Rosenberg PD. Hubby immediately did what he was supposed to do as someone with a CHL. The guy was very nice and let him go with a warning. I think the cop felt sorry for hubby because I was snickering at him.

I thought it was to leave a fingerprint so if the driver took off they had positive ID of the vehicle. If it was drugs, the dog would scent on the cop too
Fingerprints are not so perfect. A junior lawyer could easily state the cops had previously marked the vehicle.

Thank you, that is what most of us are speculating...and one would certainly hope so.
Failing to use a turn signal and having too many stickers on the windshield doesn't usually result in an arrest, towed vehicle, impound fees etc. The edited dash cam almost certainly deleted the circumstances of the driver being "uncooperative".
Or more likely looking to score some.
It's over a 50 50 chance they might have a couple of scrip pain pills on em. They'll personally process the evidence. Free of charge! I've heard of it a few times from people it's happened to. One of em a dea dude, friend tried to get his meds back by producing his scrip, and guv boy wouldn't return his phone calls. Another friend had some bad bad teeth issues, he had one pill and it was "processed" in the same manner.
Which is why it is being contemplated that the CCW had something to do with those particular officers deciding to arrest the guy.
As for restricted visibility from the driver's seat --- I don't know that was about 'stickers' but may have been about something else? I know that a cracked windshield can attract notice from traffic enforcement, regardless of how bad (or not so bad) the cracks are, provided they catch sight of the cracks. If or when they do --- I'm certain that many leo's will then focus on what else they can use as reason for pulling someone over.
From memory, the man who was arrested said something brief about his windshield --- did he mention 'stickers'? Some sticker at the top of the windshield...or something?
What I DO recall from the video is the police officer telling him the arrest was due to failure to use signal, and something about obscured visibility from the driver's seat.
I'd rather not have to go to the 'Blaze' again, if that can be avoided, even though on that one visit (to see what there was of video that others were saying was "edited") the site didn't freeze my puny computer, or hit me with a barrage of pop-ups, like that one has before.
I hate to say it, but Breitbart can be worse. Washington Times is another I avoid, although they occasionally carry content that is both well enough sourced to be fairly reliable, and on subject matter that the lamestreamers are busy trying to gin up counter-narrative explanation for (all roads lead to it's all conservative's and Republican's fault), of course.

Makes sense. I assumed otherwise. I’ve dealt with officers twice while carrying in the last 5 years. Once during a traffic stop, and once at a fender bender. Neither time did I tell the officer I was armed, and neither time did they ask. May be because I don’t have a threatening demeanor:-)
