Homegrown Extremists Tied to Deadlier Toll Than Jihadists in U.S. Since 9/11
Muslims make up about 1% of the U.S. population, meaning that they are about 35 times more likely to commit one of these incidents than all the crazies, whack-jobs and other brands of extremism from every other demographic combined. That's pretty darn significant.
Note the "Y" axis on the graph at the NY Times link you supplied.
According to the New York Times, there were a total of under 50 deaths from so-called "right wing" terrorism over 14 years. The death toll in the US from causes like autoerotic asphyxiation and tropical diseases like malaria is much higher.
(I really like it when the left wing media makes my point!)
2002: They omitted the Beltway Sniper. John Allen Muhammad (Nation Of Islam) and Lee Boyd Malvo murdered 21 people. John Allen Muhammad immigrated.
2011: The Tsarnaev brothers are thought to be responsible for the murder of three Jewish men in Waltham, Massachusetts.
2013: Yusuf Ibrahim murdered two Coptic Christians in New Jersey.
2015: Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez murdered four Marines in Chattanooga.
That’s a quick look through Google and it doesn’t include all the ones they wanted to do but screwed up. Richard Reid attempted to murder 196 human beings.
