I actually do like politically incorrect speech and have delivered some pretty good knee slappers myself. I’m not a fan of politically incorrect speech for the sake of politically incorrect speech. At that point it has become too contrived and, for the most part, unfunny. A line or two from Shirley Q. Liquor can be amusing, but on the whole, he’s just not funny.
Some friends of mine whose family business is flipping houses in Harris and surrounding counties chose not to use the services of Oops! Steam Cleaning because of their choice to use him in their ads. They’re not a very political family and not married to any kind of political correctness, but they are put off by the lame, in-your-face stereotyping in those ads. I’m sure losing their business won’t make or break Oops!, but I’ll bet Stanley Steemer is glad that Oops! chose him to do their ads. :)
