The White House will hold a call with governors Tuesday evening about Syrian refugees as a growing number of state executives are saying they will not welcome resettling them in their states over terror concerns.

The call with administration officials is part of "ongoing outreach and communications" with state and local officials, a White House official said. The White House "will share existing information about Syrian refugee admissions policies and security screening measures."

Either take the money and the refugees or have money taken from you and we will put the refugees in your state regardless.

“These Governors better not give in! “

The feds give states billions of dollars for roads, medicare and a host of programs. Anytime the states don’t tow the line the feds cut off the funds. The offending governor or law gets changed or gives in to what the feds want. Look for most if not all of them to recant.

Most likely.

Problem is that while governors may not be able to stop them being deposited in their states they most likely can't be forced by the Feds to provide state services

After Omoeba’s arm twisting, the (sane) governors need to address the media directly and detail how they are basically being extorted and vow to stand firm for the safety of their citizens.

The large state governors can tell their large companies to send their with holding to the state capital. We will hold it in reserve until we can litigate the outcome in the Federal courts. Should only take about a decade. Texas & Ohio alone have some of the largest companies in the World.

Never retreat, never surrender.

That’s excellent. Abbott of Texas should get it into the courts and get it all put on HOLD!

Congress should NOT provide funding!

Meh.

A lot of those governors have only made lukewarm statements with no intent to take any action at all.

This, BTW, is another reason for repeal of the 17th Amendment.

They’ll try to pay them off. Obama don’t have much muscle anymore and this is a very unpopular policy.

What’s the count now? Once it gets over 50% and if the governors are as strong as Abbott in Texas, it will be hard for Obama to stop them.

You mean ‘bring them’.

Or ‘ram them down our throats’.

“Either take the money and the refugees or have money taken from you and we will put the refugees in your state regardless.”

Then they could all call a press conference, and say the President blackmailed us to take in terrorists.
