Trump: Too Early to Say on VP ["but he likes Cruz")
Life Zette ^ | Nov 17, 2015 | Jon Conradi

Donald Trump on Tuesday declined to name a potential running mate from among his GOP opponents, but he noted his affection for Texas Sen. Ted Cruz.

"Well, I like like him," Trump said Tuesday on The Laura Ingraham Show." "He's backed everything I've said ...Ted Cruz is now agreeing with me 100 percent."

But the dogged GOP front-runner, still leading the latest polls, was reluctant to go further. "I like to think of victory, I've had a lot of victories, and I like to do victories first, then start thinking about other things," Trump said to Ingraham.

But Trump was clear on who he thought would not be getting the nomination, dismissing the chances of both Sen. Marco Rubio, R-Fla., and Jeb Bush.

"Rubio is not going to be the one … it's not going to be Rubio," Trump said, "Rubio is very, very weak on immigration - a member of the Gang of Eight."

Rubio has come under increasing scrutiny of late for his role in the 2013 "Gang of Eight" amnesty push.

On Bush, Trump said that although "you can't watch television without seeing a [Bush] ad, all paid for by special interests and lobbyists," he believes the former governor's campaign is finished.

A national poll of likely GOP primary voters released Monday by UMASS Amherst and YouGov America found Trump at 31 percent, back in the range his previous highs and nine points ahead of second-place Dr. Ben Carson.

Trump hammered President Obama and German Chancellor Angela Merkel for their handling of Syrian refugees and taking a swipe at opponent Marco Rubio for his track record on immigration.

"Look what Merkel has done in Germany, there are going to be riots over there," Trump said.

"Look what Merkel has done in Germany, there are going to be riots over there," Trump said of the German leader for accepting an influx of as many as 800,000 Syrian migrants. "I think this is going to destroy Germany," he said.

"Taking these people is absolute insanity," Trump said, referring to any Western nation that would accept Syrians after revelations that at least one of the Paris attackers had posed as a Syrian refugee.

Trump suggested that President Obama, who faces growing criticism of his refugees plan and his handling of ISIS, sounded during his press conference Monday like he had thrown in the towel.

"He's supposed to be a cheerleader for this country," Trump said. Instead, "he just acts like a defeated man."

I always thought Carson was in it to promote his book. I don’t think he intended to be taken so seriously.

Trump should replace Loretta Lynch with Cruz in the Dept. Of Justice, if he doesn’t make him VP. Someone needs to clean out that hornet’s nest chock full of socialist Dem lawyers.

Once Trump filed his financials, I knew he was in for the win.
I knew he would make a strong run but never imagined it would be such a wave as it is.

I predicted a month or so ago that he would be the nominee, short of RNC backstabbing.

Even though I am in the Cruz cheering section, I appreciate Trump and all he has accomplished.

If Ted doesn’t get the win I want Trump with a Trump/Cruz ticket in the general.

The amount of ballot fraud needed to defeat them would be so evident I don’t think even Hillary! and the Kenyan combined could pull it off.

We live in interesting and dangerous times friends.
Interesting and dangerous times.

Short of a Trump/Cruz inauguration in 2017 we will need the direct intervention of God to maintain the nation.

The vp actually has nothing to do...so he could advise the AG via Trump.

Advise is one thing. But I think you would have separation of powers issues if a sitting vice president had to be approved by the Senate to be AG. And I would hope that whoever Trump picked as Attorney General would be capable of doing the job on their own and wouldn't need advice from the Vice President.

If Trump is the nominee, he will need Cruz as his VP to really motivate the evangelical base. With that team, it would be a huge landslide.

What Trump should do is take the other Republican competitors and break them into two teams. Then see which one can raise the most charity money. Fire the captain of the losing team then the next week.... Just kidding. ;-)

I would have thought that too if The information on Trump and Carson hadn’t been found. Now it seems Trump, Carson and Cruz are beating the Rinos at their own game. For awhile it seems there was a woman in the group At first I thought Carly. Now am thinking Palin. She would have access to all of McCANE’s research on various candidates

Expect great things from the anti establishment group. They mean business

Trump/Cruz totally works for me, and could beat the odds and defeat Hillary in 2016. #GoForBroke

Uhh, not quite Gil, I think you missed my semi-sly sarcasm in my post, but hopefully it won't be long before Jebuardo closes in on that big 'ZERO', lol

Jeb Bush is no longer running under his Christian name.

He is now known as El Yebe! FYI.

Rather, I say Trump puts some spine in the Republican Senate, extend the no-filibuster rule to SC nominees, and put Cruz on the Supreme Court. He’ll do us more good over the longer term there, and being forced to do it would give the RINOs in the Senate a cerebral hemorrhage.

When the last GOP Debate was finished where did Trump Go? He went to Cruz and they were seen shaking hands, smiling and laughing about something. I think I see a parnership—a friendship here—one that could be helpful to both.

“”He’s supposed to be a cheerleader for this country,” Trump said. Instead, “he just acts like a defeated man.””

If that isn’t spot on! He is excellent at reading people and summarizing them in a few words.

“I thought Cruz would be best as senate leader at least de facto”

Isn’t the VP over the Senate somehow?

I want to see Cruz be over McConnell, LOL!
