Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump just put rival Ted Cruz on notice: Get too hot and I'll have to take you down.
Describing the senator from Texas as "nice and supportive," Trump told CNBC’s "Squawk Box" on Monday that the two candidates have similar ideas on many of the issues, including border security and the need for a wall to keep out illegal immigrants.
"[But] If he catches on, I guess we'll have to go to war," Trump said of Cruz, who's seen a bit of a bump nationally and in the early contest states of Iowa and New Hampshire since last week's Republican debate.

The thing is, many people have an irrational hatred for NYC/New Yorkers and Trump is a New Yorker.
Then there is the fact that Cruz isn't winning and they would HATE anyone who was beating Cruz.
The two combined drives them to distraction!

Famously, we had the purge here of Giuliani supporters that primary. Very sad though I don’t know what else could have been done.
But I ‘remember’ a sci-fi story of a civilization that would destroy itself every so many years because of a planetary alignment- or something.

Lets just hope if Trump does get the nominateion, he doesn’t pull a Romney and go all nicey-nice with his BFF Hillary.

I am a Trump supporter but yes I also like Cruz. Personally, I do not want a bible thumping pacifist as a president. I want a realistic man of the world who has been there and done that as my president. Not afraid to use words that mean something and some one who will do as he says. I want a president with compassion but who will also stand his ground and not afraid of defending his country.
I think Trump is more conservative than Cruz too, specifically because of their stances on immigration.. Though, it is definitely a close call as to who is the most conservative.
But trump’ll scream and whine, “LOSER!! DUMB!!”
