Well, there are five combat arms branches (IN,AR,FA,ADA,AV) and these are mostly filled with white soldiers. Minority soldiers tend to gravitate to the support branches.
regards,
Well, I am ex-military, and not “white”. (I am actually mixed-race)
While I was assigned many times to ‘support’ functions while I was in, I never actively sought out those supporting branches and preferred by far to stay away from them as much as possible in favour of more active missions.
With limited success, I must admit, but we go where we are assigned and serve where our leaders deem best.
Although I had to wonder many times about their collective intelligence when I was assigned to so many other tasks than the ones I continually asked for.
Most times it appeared they just wanted a warm body to fill a slot somewhere on a roster sheet and really did not care about whether or not it took away from someone capable of performing the tasks applicable to a more skilled (and intelligent) individual’s capabilities.
