He needs another line explaining that he will stop any efforts to resettle Syrians in Texas with the police and National Guard if necessary, and he will arrest those officials attempting to facilitate that resettlement.

Yes! Post of the day right there! And the governors who feel the same way (ideally, it should be all of them) should stand together on this.

The title says Gov. Abbott will not accept any refugees. But his letter only says he will not participate in the process (that's big difference).

So which is it, governor? No refugees, or just no participation, and the Fed's just go right around you?

“How will Governors of States actually prevent refugees from settling in their States.”

By not allowing them to settle in their states.

Right. This is nice, but I’d like to know that the governors are getting together on a unified plan to stop this. Then I might believe it’s something besides rhetoric.

What strikes me in these conversations is the absurdity of Governors having to fight off the feds. Something’s really, terribly wrong when we have to resort to open battle with our own gov’t.

Not that I don’t agree, Obama’s no better than Santa Ana. Remember the Alamo!

By not allowing them to settle in their states.

I think you missed the relevant part of the question which is the word "how."

They sure do and I hope OK joins in very soon.

BUT. what does it mean when they say they will not accept any Syrians?

Does it mean there will be no Funding to support them, otherwise I can't see how any state will be able to enforce a ban with so many roads, rails, etc. in an out of each state.

I don't suspect those ISSA Syrians will obey a ban...lol

How do the governors propose to enforce these declarations?

If this is a good and workable position for Syrians why not central americans and other invaders?

The Governor’s positions make it appear as though the states have something to do with immigration to the various states. I don’t see how this is possible though.

Looks like we may all have to get passports just to enter another state. Checkpoints on all roads, highways, interstate, rails, etc.

Wow!! Just who would give her a VP pass? The only possible one would have been Jib-Jeb (still standing) or an odd assortment of other rinos (who aren’t), and Jib-Jeb eaten for breakfast every morning. He’s toast. That the woman places her state in jeopardy must be due to lunacy. Water on the brain, perhaps? These rinos have multiplied faster than rabbits.

Boy! Happy most of America was seen when younger. Not much chance to be able to do so now....if one even wished to. Beginning to sound like Nazi Germany and ‘other places’ during war. STOP!! errrr not WAR....PC, you know — conflict.

Showboating. There isn’t a damned thing he can do to stop anyone from entering Texas.

What he could do is call for the impeachment of the little prick and stand against illegal aliens by his southern border.

As bad as I hate to predict the passport issue and checkpoints, it would not surprise me at all, what other means would work.

Also the forever planned containment of the White Flight Americans.

I think your right, Agenda 21 in the making. Easier to contain and trace all that oppose this administration.

“I think you missed the relevant part of the question which is the word “how.””

That is easy, by denying them shelter. That would then require the government to confiscate shelter and I don’t think Obama wants to cross that bridge.
