I didn't get what all that talk about southpaws and so forth had to do with anything, but as far women women's fighting -- I agree with the author. In an ideal society, men protect and cherish women, not hoot and holler while they beat the stuffing out of each other.

I'm not sure if men's contact/combat sports are necessarily right either, except that men are naturally meant to be fighters (in order to protect their women), and things like boxing provide both an outlet and training towards that end. It should certainly be held to a point withing reason to prevent, as much as possible, people being severely injured.
