I agree that immigration must be significantly curtailed and be mindful and selective.
Though let’s not get hung up on a “Syrian passport” only.
After reading through some comments in various threads on FR, we also know there are many who are & have been inside the USA, Europe, and elsewhere in the Western world for a long time. They are citizens and in many cases were born in the West.
I read online yesterday that 2 of the Paris terrorists spoke fluent French as they were gunning down innocent people. “Jihadi John” was not a new immigrant either, as an example.
Islamists use an ideology as the foundation for their actions & spread it. That’s at the core and center of what drives them, and what needs to be addressed especially in the long run.
Muslims are “frustrated” generationally and they take their frustrations out by killing people.
For me, here in the US, the muslims need to leave until they figure out how to manage their frustrations. The only way for the muslims to manage their frustrations is for the muslim religion to cease to exist.
Until the muslim religion ceases to exist, there will always be muslim frustration. With muslim frustration, there will always be killing.
So, let’s start in the US, by removing all muslims, therefore all muslim frustration ceases, and therefore all muslim killing in the US will stop.

There are a ton of Somalis in Minnesota's big cities, and they've been there quite some time. They've also been quick to make Islamic, Sharia-related demands on the civil authorities there.
At home, Al Shabaab is almost as bad as Al Q'aeda in its murderous intolerance of Somali Christians.
