I hate takeover ads. One of the best new ad blockers is UBLOCK ORIGIN. It also allows you to push a button and turn it off on sites you like and want to get the ad revenue.

Yes, Adblock Plus is yesterday’s technology. Was OK in the beginning but grew so bloated I can’t run it on older laptops. Ublock uses elegant heuristics rather than a brute force black list and takes almost no memory and less CPU.
