CRUZ: America must stand with our allies against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism

Issues statement on terrorist attacks in Paris

HOUSTON, Texas — Presidential candidate Ted Cruz issued the following statement in response to the terrorist attacks in Paris:

“America must stand with our allies against the scourge of radical Islamic terrorism. This is an evil that does not discriminate between French, German or American, Christian, Muslim or Jew, soldier, football player, or concert goer. Their only goal is to murder those who do not submit to their vicious, totalitarian ideology. Our deepest condolences go out to our French allies, and I know the government of the United States stands by to offer any assistance necessary.

“We must now face the facts. Between the downing of the Russian jet over Egypt and this massive coordinated attack on Paris, we are seeing an unmistakable escalation of ISIS' ambitions and the scale of their terrorist attacks outside Syria and Iraq. Even as chaos rages in Paris, we need to take immediate, commonsense steps to preserve our own safety. We need to consult closely with our NATO allies who may be targeted for additional attacks. We need to immediately declare a halt to any plans to bring refugees that may have been infiltrated by ISIS to the United States. We need to redouble our efforts to prevent ISIS agents from penetrating our nation by other means.

“Such steps, however, are defensive reactions to an enemy that will continue to try to attack us until they succeed once again. We must immediately recognize that our enemy is not ‘violent extremism.’ It is the radical Islamism that has declared jihad against the west. It will not be appeased by outreach or declarations of tolerance. It will not be deterred by targeted airstrikes with zero tolerance for civilian casualties, when the terrorists have such utter disregard for innocent life. We must make it crystal clear that affiliation with ISIS and related terrorist groups brings with it the undying enmity of America-that it is, in effect, signing your own death warrant.”

Technically, this was an act of war, which means that under the NATO treaty, we’re now obligated to intervene on France’s behalf.

Like Dear Leader is going to do that.

The vermin behind this need to be eradicated — totally. I don’t care what it takes. This scourge must be eliminated.

Exactly. “Radical Islamic terrorism” is a double redundancy.
“Islamic” by itself is enough to call in air strikes.

I like Cruz, too, but you are so right. He needs to change his terminology. That bugs me about everyone I hear who uses the term “radical” when referring to Muslims. Islam is Islam. If some Muslims seem peaceful, it just means they either don’t know what’s going on or they aren’t practicing...yet. The commands for everything the jihadis are doing is right there in the Koran, much of it demonstrated by Mohammad himself. He had a particular fondness for bloodbaths and severed heads.

I also don’t want to hear the word Allah translated to God by people on our side. Islam’s Allah and the Christian God are in no way the same. If someone is referring to Allah, then they need to say Allah. That is Islam’s deity, not Christianity’s. I see great danger in the insidious crossing of fundamental definitions. It plants the wrong impression in the minds of the uninformed.

They won’t have blood on their hands because the American people are incapable of connecting the dots.

No politician will propose what needs to be done and is the only thing that will decrease terrorist attacks here - ban Islam. Nothing the US does in the Middle East makes any difference as long as we invite the enemy into our country. This is where the threat is. Anything short of getting Muslims out of our country is so much useless talk.

I truly like Ted. But I wish he would stop calling it Radical islamic terrorism. It’s just islamic terrorism.

Everyone needs some nit to pick in order to "keep their options open"...

I take comfort in the fact that he isn't backing off and going PC - saying they need to understand that attacking us and others should mean they have signed their own death warrant is a finishing touch.

Now for a short public service announcement to all on FR:
I prefer Cruz and my money goes to his campaign, hence the Cruz link. If you like someone else, donate to him/her (find your own link to do it) and if you use FR and don't donate, then please don't complain about the welfare leeches or those who have Obama Phones because, functionally, you are no different than any other FReeloader

PS - If you are one of those who cannot afford even a small donation to FR or a candidate, God Bless and happy FReeping!.....

GO CRUZ!! Keep it up Trump!!

Donate to Cruz

Donate to FR

No worries, I’m still a Cruz supporter. But for once I wish a politician would call a spade a spade.

It’s not really “radical Islam” or “radical” Islamic terrorism. It is Islamic terrorism.
