Is Ted Cruz the Real GOP Frontrunner? (Cruz wins money race, takes Walker, Perry donors)
PJ Media ^ | November 13, 2015 | Tyler O'Neil

Polls can be deceiving, but money talks. According to fundraising, Texas Senator Ted Cruz is the frontrunner in the GOP presidential race. Former Florida Governor Jeb Bush and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson have raked in the cash from big and small donors, respectively, but only Ted Cruz has both a strong and balanced appeal.

At this point in the presidential race, the money a candidate has raised, and from whom, may be a stronger indicator of longevity than his or her position in the “horse race” polls. Former Texas Governor Rick Perry had a rich super PAC, but his lack of grassroots support, which translated to an inability to raise money from small donors, killed his campaign. A majority of his former donors — along with those of Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker — have flocked to Cruz.

Ted Cruz ranks second in overall GOP fundraising to Ben Carson, and second in total dollars (including super PACs) to Jeb Bush. His ratio of low-dollar to high-dollar donors is healthy, and despite his enmity with the Republican Party’s establishment, he has a surprisingly high number of endorsements from elected officials.

Fundraising Balance is Critical to Presidential Campaigns

Ok. I guess the Ipso/Reuters poll released today that shows him breaking the 40% barrier could have been 50% if he didn’t do that? I think he’ll take it.

I would be careful of the Rueters/Ipsos poll it has supposedly been released the last three days straight showing Trump at 40% yet mysteriously Real Clear Politics hasn’t picked that poll up???

.
If you pay attention you will see that the most effective part of Trump’s campaign is being done and financed by the MSM.

They go out of their way to keep his name and face visible and prominent. That is because they believe his candidacy to be destructive to the cause of the conservative wing of the GOP.

No wonder, I went and looked at the Reuters poll website and it is some kind of internet poll. Not scientific at all it seems but in one view is shows Donald Trump being beat by Won’t Vote!!! Oh by the way it is 34% not 40% in the non scientific poll anyway.

Well, I would not use that term to describe you, but I certainly do have a very different view than you. We will see in a few short months who “the fool” is.

Good point...and I know polling is suspect, especially this early out. It’s more about establishing a trend line than an actual indicator.

He’s the real conservative in the race.

I’ll never be sucked in by right leaning progressive hype and change. The only true conservatism is constitutional conservatism.

His immigration plan says what he’ll do with illegal, DEPORT them. You need to read Cruz immigration Plan posted in the right column of the form. It is by far the best plan out there.

yet mysteriously Real Clear Politics hasn’t picked that poll up???

*********************

And they don’t use the Rueters/Ipsos poll in their calculations. Scroll down
thru the last couple of years of polls and you wont’s see one from Rueters/Ipsos.

He is not soliciting but the campaign is accepting private donations. I think it was 3.7 million in the last quarter. The FEC filing is online and lists the donors.Nothing wrong with this.

Some supporters say that this doesn’t mean he isn’t still self-funding but the money is being spent. It wasn’t returned or donated.

Cruz doesn’t seem to have any problem standing up for what he believes in. He went against the Koch brothers with the crime bill.

http://www.aim.org/aim-column/ted-cruz-breaks-with-koch-brothers-on-crime-bill/

If he were the type of guy that was self-serving he sure took a beating with his career in the Senate going up against the powers that be. When you do stuff like that you pay. One way or another. But Cruz said he keeps his campaign promises and he intends on keeping the ones he made to the state of Texas voters who put him in office. And his record proves it.

Okay show me one where RCP has used an Reuters/Ipsos poll in their candidate Polling.
Reuters does candidate polling but RCP hasn’t included them in the candidate polls.
Why I don’t know other than maybe it’s because Reuters/Ipsos is an online poll.

Probably because it is not a scientific poll. If you go to RCP ALL Polls you will see they have used it for Obummer Job approvals and the sort.
