Yes, I even recall having to actually get up off my butt to MANUALLY change the channel on VHF, and then spend a few minutes trying to tune in a station on the UHF channel. And then you’d play ring-around-the-rosy with the rotary antenna ... Ooooh - that was “hi tech” there.
Of course you had to also be good with the HORIZ and VERT. HOLD dials. Remember those “rolling screens” ARRRGUG! I’ll bet that nobody under 50 knows WTF I am writing about!
The rolling screens were the worst. Just when we would get that tiny dial adjusted something would happen to shake it.
