I have posted this to every Trump FB and other site to which I have access. If you are also a supporter and can help, please do so.
PLEASE — if anyone with the Trump campaign is monitoring these sites — tell the candidate to back down the invective and ridicule. It is really hurting the campaign and causing some folks to rethink their support for one of the two men who can clear out the wreckage Obama is leaving behind! PLEASE?!?!
The Donald needs to do what nearly every past candidate has done with that sort of factual info: Let other folks put it out there! I respect Trump’s honesty in doing so himself but it makes this otherwise good man seem petty and small to those who are not following these campaigns, candidates and issues as closely as we wonks are.
Your advice is sound. In this case, with this candidate I think it will be ignored.
I don’t pretend to be a shrink, so can’t speculate on Trump’s concious or unconscious motives. Even so, it’s clear that his idea, as he said, of taking the gloves off, is going to lose him some supporters. He has to realize that, right? How many people will look elsewhere we don’t yet know.
I’ve kept track of roughly 50 people in my area of Central Florida since the summer. Maybe 20 of them are dug in for Rubio, Cruz etc. The others were open. Some hated Trump, but began listening and getting excited about him. It’s been a roller coaster! All of them like his positions. ALL.
As of about 10 minutes ago, I’ve received 18 checking in e-mails. All but 3 are now looking at others. Reactions were everything from complete disgust to real disappointment.
This is clearly not scientific, this is just an informal kind of thing that grew out of chats with people I know and we decided to stay in contact through the primaries.
