Other than the fact that the states have never done so, there is conceptually nothing wrong with the idea of the states delegating to the feds, expressly via the Constitution, the specific power to tax the rich to pay for college for everyone who is eligible. This is evidenced by the following suggestion by Thomas Jefferson for the rich to provide such funding.
The great mass of the articles on which impost is paid is foreign luxuries, purchased by those only who are rich enough to afford themselves the use of them. Their patriotism would certainly prefer its continuance and application to the great purposes of the public education, roads, rivers, canals, and such other objects of public improvement as it may be thought proper to add to the constitutional enumeration of federal powers [emphasis added]. Thomas Jefferson: 6th Annual Message, 1806.
The rich alone use imported articles, and on these alone the whole taxes of the General Government are levied [emphasis added]. . . . Our revenues liberated by the discharge of the public debt, and its surplus applied to canals, roads, schools, etc., the farmer will see his government supported, his children educated, and the face of his country made a paradise by the contributions of the rich alone, without his being called on to spend a cent from his earnings [emphasis added]. Thomas Jefferson to Thaddeus Kosciusko, 1811.
The problem with Jeffersons idea concerning free federal government anything as evidenced by todays unconstitutionally big federal government is the following. Federal government social spending in this post 17th-Amendment ratification era leads to unaccountable federal spending, free education funding a target for corrupt college and federal leaders in this example.
I laughed, I cried. Now I m depressed. I m going to go back to laughing.
That was painful to watch. My father would have had a conniption if I’d gone on television and displayed such abject ignorance.
Who was it that called them “Crybullies.”
I like that.
LOL, Yea, absolutely, sure.
Neil was great...right out the gate...One simple question...”How do you pay for this free education”....she couldn’t answer..and he took it all home from then on...she never gained any ground whatsoever....and he was being kind!
They also want campus jobs to pay them $15. hourly......what a bunch of entitlement loosers!
I think she should get a “Participant” trophy.
that was almost painful to watch. She was so completely clueless. I’d have gone much further that he did though, and beat her so hard with logic that she’d cry.
Today’s system of giving grades is not fair, nor equitable.
The Students all pay the same tuition!
Then, some receive an “A”, others get a “F”, and most students fall somewhere in between .
Time for a new system :
All grades are tallied and then divided by the number of student course units.
That way, everyone goes home with a fair and equitable, approximate, “C+” average grade
College loans are an important component of the 0bamacare law.
The revenues from College loans were/are applied to 0bamacare costs.
Without College loan interest, 0bamacare will go deeper into bankruptcy at a faster pace
I kept waiting for her to say “fer sure” like a good valley girl.
Cavuto should have just asked “How about just taking a gun and demanding people give you free stuff?’’.
This girl is too, like, uhmmm, stupid to be like, embarrassed.
Watching her and the students AND staff at Missouri has taught me something that I didn’t know. I’ve had an impression that our young people are not learning. Their minds aren’t being stretched. But it’s one thing to believe it, it’s another to see it.
We may have passed the point of no return. I’m not sure of it, but the darkness hovers.

She says her family is “scraping to get by” to be able to afford to send her to college. Seems like they are sacrificing in vain, because their daughter is an idiot who is being made exponentially more stupid and ignorant by the very college education her family is sacrificing to provide.
If that’s what she is learning in college then she should just demand a refund. I’d even tell that school they should be ashamed that they produced that thought process.
Not that painful. There may be for that young mind.
I began to think there may be hope when she said, "America was the bastion of capitalism and it's success".
Ping.
Here’s the reply I posted:
This selfish little sponge wants her socialism paid for but then rejects taxing the top 1% at 100% because “that would be on the road to socialism”. Her “incredibly middle class family” that’s on various forms of government assistance just to scrape by enough to pay for her college education. I have news for her parents: “You wasted your money.”
>>>> “I live in a world and I see a system around me where there is a population that is doing nothing to contribute to the progression of society,” she added. <<< (transcript from Breitbart)
How absolute terrifying and utter arrogance of the young woman.
Imagine given any tiny bit of power or control, what would she have done to those population she thinks ‘doing nothing to contribute to the progression of society’.
