A local Huntsville, AL talkie suggested that the actions of the university could place their accreditation in jeopardy as it is evidence of a lack of institutional control over athletics.

It would be interesting if that scenario were implemented in the near future. Give the University a choice, give up your accreditation or give up your football team.

In a normal world, a couple of other things would be in motion.

The NCAA would be looking at the football players who went on strike and would be telling the University that it will issue sanctions on the team if the players are not dismissed from the team.

In light of the apparent support of ESPN of the students, the University should be reviewing their contract with ESPN about covering any athletic events on the campus or at other locations where Missouri's student athletes compete.
