Will you be drawing parallels with Andrew Jackson's 1828 campaign? Jackson had a campaign slogan that was so simple that "even the goats could understand it," as the late George Wallace was fond of saying. It was "Jackson and Reform." Granted, Jackson could not have told you what that reform actually was because Martin van Buren hadn't told him yet. But the parallels between the campaigns are growing over time.

A book like this would fill the hole left by the late Theodore White. I had lunch with a former history professor and author of books on the national parks (one of co-author Mike Allen's good friends) a few weeks ago in Seattle, and he was horrified that so much of our pre-Civil War history is not taught anymore.

Are you using your usual agent for your new book? Billthedrill and I have our book ready to go, and we're looking for an agent that could represent a book on the Federalist and Anti-Federalist papers that analyzes them via a conservative prism, rather than the usual Marxist prism.

Same agent but so far no movement. I did just get a contract from Regnery for one of the "PIG" series.

You are welcome to try Roger Williams at New England Publishing (roger@nepagency.com
