First, the Drudge poll is not scientific and measures intensity not depth of support. If you believe these polls Ron Paul should be President.
Second, even if you actually put stock in these unscientific metrics, Trump's dominance of them (including the Drudge poll) is slipping away. In the Drudge poll he seems to lead Cruz by only 10 points. The earlier Drudge polls often showed Trump winning the debates with 50%+ support.
Trump has tried to build an aura of inevitability by pointing to polls to suggest he is unbeatable. Now the polls are getting closer and he is even losing some to Carson - and it is clear Cruz and Rubio are moving up. If/when Trump starts coming in 2nd, 3rd, 4th in some of these polls, I wonder if he will even stay in the race. The man hates losing and being tagged a loser. If it looks like he won't win Iowa or NH, I think he will bail and be happy to have helped likely knock Jeb out (something we can all agree was a worthwhile endeavor).
I did not say it was scientific but that’s also the case of the one referenced in this post. The fact still remains he is leading and we will just have to see where he is come next year. I know you hope he isn’t.
