A whopping 49 percent of Republicans and independents who lean to the GOP say Trump is the presidential candidate who can best handle the issue

This is a bellweather event. Trump knows that if you have to negototiate you start from a position of strength. The hispanic apologists are all in a tizzy because no politican has stood up to them like this since Eisenhower.

The key here is independents leaning republican. The missing part (probably silent by media design) is the total population's feelings. I suspect the general public including many hispanics, support his position by a very similar ratio. This includes the blue collar and union workers who are traditionally dim voters. Their jobs are the ones that go to the illegals.
