MARKSVILLE — Police body camera video shows the father of a 6-year-old autistic boy had his hands up and posed no threat as marshals opened fire on their vehicle, severely wounding the motorist and killing his son, the manâs lawyer said Monday.
âThis was not a threatening situation for the police,â said Mark Jeansonne, the attorney for Chris Few, who remained hospitalized Monday and could not attend the funeral of his son, Jeremy Mardis, on Monday.
The funeral was held at 1:30 p.m. in Hattiesburg, where several members of his motherâs side of the family live, according to his obituary. Family sought privacy and barred the media from attending the small service and several attendees declined to speak with The Advocate.
