Mob man Jack Ruby shot and killed Lee Harvey Oswald. Why?The way I heard it, Ruby was told he was a dead man anyway and if he didn't do it, his entire family would be killed as well. But if he did do it, his family would be spared.
Sounds plausible, but no idea if it is grounded in fact.

Jack Ruby was a Mob guy only in his own head. He killed Oswald for the same reason Oswald killed Kennedy. He thought he would go down in history as a hero.
