That app on your phone may be useless, as it wouldn’t surprise me to see him appoint himself president for life—and get away with it!
More intentional long-term damage to the US. Debt, decreasing strategic reserves, not addressing real infrastructure concerns. Not only do Republicans do nothing to stop it, they’re complicit.
Let’s hope you’re wrong lol
At this point in time, I agree. However, a good compromise would be that transportation freedom act, which reduces the federal gas tax to 3.7 cents per gallon and lets the states make most of the transportation decisions.
Fortunately, the Senate and House bills are for six years, and if we get a conservative President and a more conservative Congress that believes in user-pays, we could have a much different funding plan for the last 3 years of the bill (the current revenue measures are for the first 3 years). This could, of course, include a gas tax increase, which is better, IMO, than robbing the SPR and the Fed surplus.
Why can’t the states take care of the Interstates by themselves. No sane state is going to let those highways rot indefinitely.
I believe the payroll tax cut actually lasted 2 years or thereabouts.
a start
The source I saw (a real estate related news site) said 2 months, but perhaps they were wrong.
Either way, it's not actually a "cut" when the .gov hikes another funding source somewhere else to offset it. And, by throwing it solely on homeowners, it fits in nicely with their Socialist policy of wealth redistribution too.
