Just dawned on me it’s the weekend. Will be calling West Point on Monday. Will get back to you after I talk to them.
LOL!
“So what did it say about accessions from active duty?”
Carson was never on active duty. Does not apply.

West point does not offer nominations or scholarships..
That has to come from a nominator.
The ROTC and JROTC assist in acquiring these nominations via a formal request...(I sent you the form)
And I just sent you the info from the West Point site since you said you looked, I did not bother before, but then I decided to look myself.
Here is what you need....again...in case you missed it..

Nothing wrong with that at all. An intelligent person desires to be well informed and doesn't take things for granted. I do recall one serious critical piece done on 0bama that came from a liberal newspaper and was posted as a thread on FR. Unfortunately the rest of the media decided that one piece was enough and no further coverage was needed.
Grim proving ground for Obama's housing policy"About 99 of the units are vacant, many rendered uninhabitable by unfixed problems, such as collapsed roofs and fire damage. Mice scamper through the halls. Battered mailboxes hang open. Sewage backs up into kitchen sinks. In 2006, federal inspectors graded the condition of the complex an 11 on a 100-point scale - a score so bad the buildings now face demolition."
You called Ziravan a liar for how they submitted an application to the Naval Academy. I'm not talking about Carson but a fellow FReeper you felt the need to denigrate because they didn't agree with you. Of course, you thought he was talking about West Point.
Again, your ignorance is astounding. Pull your head out of your ass and learn a thing or two. You won't find all your answers at a website.
In keeping with that notion of Hellfire raining down. This is directed at a monumentally dull single-minded poster, to provide some degree of understanding of WHAT was happening in the Army ranks of leadership in 1970. A pdf of the USMA Class of 1970 Memorial Service to those lost in Vietnam.
Of particular interest is the page with USMA grads, by year of graduation that had been lost in Vietnam, at a rate that became, in 1970— one a week.
In this environment, Westmoreland and Medal of Honor winners and many others were on a mission to re-fill the leadership ranks and do so with balance and integrity. Very different than what the current point and click website mentality that our military academies are nothing more than regular college with uniforms and free education— instead of Duty, Honor, Country.
Being of the age to remember VietNam and the events of that era, I know the strain, both in deployment and in the domestic climate of the day, the officer corps were facing. It makes perfect sense that leading military figures and politicians of the time would be operating differently than today in seeking high talent for the officer corps.
Can you imagine putting taking a young George Patton and placing him in today’s West Point?
I think it would be a hoot!
Nothing on the website that I can visibly see, unless hidden in some obscure spot. Nothing about accessions from military on the visible list of requirements. Where allegedly is it? Not that it matters, as Carson was never active military anyhow even if there were a way. ROTC in high school is not active military. And why would someone be applying to West Point after they are already in the military? Doesn’t make sense. Must not happen very often, and do they still need to be nominated by a Congressman, 2 Senators, or the VP? Just curious, even if this doesn’t apply at all to Carson’s tall tale to make himself look good.
Thank you for your informative posts.
Your have more patience than I.
That's my point. Your head is so far up your ass you don't leave the possibility that there MAY be other things to consider.
The answer about active duty wanting to attend is on their website. I found it. Go look for it.
“You called Ziravan a liar for how they submitted an application to the Naval Academy.”
No I didn’t. You infer this, but I didn’t. I referred to the West Point website with the list of requirements, and what he was saying didn’t fit those requirements. Show me proof of other methods, and if they are valid, and I wiil be calling West Point on Monday to ask about this and other things, then so be it. Unless of course, I am right about what their own website says.
That would be one of slum lord Valerie Jarrett’s properties, which she milked and bilked the junkies and bums on subsidy payments for their rent money, and did nothing to maintain them. Top flight sleazebag, now the Natl Security Advisor to the great obamaumao. In this article she is listed as a campaign financier/manager... typical.
Junkies, ho’s, slumlords... this is who put the Lord of the Flies into office and protect him still. He will get his reward, assuredly, both for utter incompetence and for his criminal neglect of his office. Alinsky mobsters of government, one and all. Great post.
OK, snarkiness off.
Carson, who was accepted to Yale, would have sailed through this unless there was something physical to sideline him and there was not, apparently. A ROTC nomination request is generally thought of as a given as there are certain parameters that once met will guarantee a signature.. But they also recommend that a candidate seeking a nomination should use every nomination route available to make sure he gets one of them. But with the ROTC endorsement, it's pretty much a done deal or at least that is what they told me in 1969.. But I could not wait and enlisted in Nov of 69. Went to NCO school and I could have gone farther but I decided to get out in 72 after spending 2 years in Germany. As it turned out, I probably would have been ROF'd after my second hitch....so I never really had much of a chance at a military career. Not that I really wanted one...
"As a state senator, the presumptive Democratic presidential nominee coauthored an Illinois law creating a new pool of tax credits for developers. As a US senator, he pressed for increased federal subsidies.""Grove Parc and several other prominent failures were developed and managed by Obama's close friends and political supporters. Those people profited from the subsidies even as many of Obama's constituents suffered. Tenants lost their homes; surrounding neighborhoods were blighted."
