There’s a whole world of exaggeration and Carson lies for the media and others to explore here, and they are all researching away this very moment. This is the beginning of the Carson fiasco, not the end.
You are right. The MSM is targeting Dr. Carson and will go back as far as they can to misrepresent his statements and fabricate lies to destroy him.
Dr. Carson said he only applied to one school, Yale. He never said or implied that he had applied to West Point.
Dr. Carson had good grades and a good record in the ROTC. It is almost certain that had he applied he would have received an appointment to the academy. It is almost certain that his ROTC commander would have told him this.
In 1998 Dr. Carson answered a question about whether the pyramids were built by aliens. This is a theory that had been put forward in the book Chariots of the Gods. Carson disagreed and said he thought the pyramids might have been built by Jacob.
Who cares about an offhand comment on an irrelevant topic in 1998? Only people who want to destroy Dr. Carson.

Carson did not apply. He was told by the people at the ROTC and others that he could get an appointment for a full four years without him having to pay any tuition, books, housing, etc. and to a kid from the inner city, that translates into scholarship.
