They probably told Dr Carson that it would be a free ride and he, not knowing how the military academies work, thought it involved a scholarship.

It was most certainly an honor for them to show such interest in having him apply, and I’m sure he would have been a shoo-in if he had!

Did he actually receive an offer? That is still unanswered for me. It’s one thing to say it...

He had excellent grades, a great ROTC record and got into Yale. I am sure he would have gotten into the USMA had he applied.

That being said, Carson needs to STFU about his temper and “stabbings” he attempted as a youth.
