Carson lied.

The teen Carson misinterpreting an offer to apply (probably with some encouraging, "you'll have no problem getting in") and the fact that those who get slots do not have to pay with anything other than five years of their lives, I would say that his saying something he knew was untrue is NOT present.

You can't hold a young man being flattered with what sounded like an offer of a scholarship to the same standard as someone who actually applied and went through it.

I am a Cruz supporter, but enough of the circular firing squad.
