The Obama administration is expected to reject the Keystone XL pipeline today, a move that would mean a major victory for his green supporters and a stunning defeat for the oil industry, the Canadian government and Republicans in Congress.
President Barack Obama will give a statement at 11:45 a.m. in the White House, with Vice President Joe Biden in attendance, following a meeting with Secretary of State John Kerry.

I am all for it. Irving is a great company.
They will also end up building a pipeline to the west coast of Canada. Much of that oil will end up going to refineries in WA, OR & CA. It will not end up just going to Asia.
The oil is still going to get to market somewhere in the world. Keystone would have lowered the transportation cost to the big refineries in LA & TX.
Also, back in those days, racial attitudes were much, much different than today.
It was quite uncommon for "nice" white girls to consort with black men and interracial sex was not accepted the way many accept it today.
Once a white girl crossed the color line it wasn't easy to cross back.
And if a white girl birthed a mulatto baby she was marked for life.
In those days a round healed white girl like Stanley Ann Dunham running with black men would have been labeled a slut and scorned by most.
oh ..... she was a slut.
