Perhaps I’m missing something then. As I understood it, the “Greatest Generation” were those that fought in WW2. They had kids when they got home (late 40s to mid 50s), and those kids grew up to be hippies and are now running and destroying this country.
You missed a generation in between, my generation fought Korea and are the ones spaning the hippies and drug creeps.
We will be gone in a few more years, we’re in our 80s and 90s and dying fast.
My parents were a generation that fought WW-2 and most of them are now dead.
