13 is just a drip at this point, but something to keep your eye on. At least the employees know and can adjust accordingly with the finances for the Holidays. I believe by law you need to give 60 days notice, Target gave 90.
True. 13 stores out of 1800 is not very significant, however, there is another part of the equation that's not mentioned here. Recently, Target made an aggressive move into Canada, opening up over 100 stores in 2013 (most were converted from the Zeller's discount chain, which Target acquired.) Earlier this year, Target Canada declared bankruptcy, closing the stores after less than 2 years in operation, losing over 2 billion dollars. Maybe Target will be fine from here forward, but it's something to keep your eye on if your an investor.
