Eminent domain is in the constitution for PUBLIC use, not private.
And it may or may not be the issue of our times (though I think that crony capitalism, which is enabled by the government’s ability to take private land for the benefit of connected private developers, is a big deal), but Trump spoke about it at some length in his speech. He spoke misleadingly, but he spoke about it...
Eminent domain is in the constitution for PUBLIC use, not private. Yes, but if the town lives off casino tax revenues? Is that not a PUBLIC use?
See the GOPE/Dems for crony capitalism. Trump gave good answers about eminent domain. On a scale from 0 to 10 with 10 being the highest, the issue is about a .03 this election cycle. The GOPE has got nothing but bupkis on Trump with this one. Meaning it’s a big yawwwwwwwner.
Only you felt misled. I personally am not in agreement with Trump about ED but its a miniscule position compared to the mega issues of the day. Its a nothing burger because if you are pizzed about it call the Supreme Court not DJ TRump. They upheld the issue. DJ Trump had absolutely nothing to do with it.
In fact I would applaud your passion if you were out in front of the Supreme Court building marching for justice. Or contacting your senators to ask them why they have not yet overturned the SCOTUS ruling.
So really get a valid argument. :-)
What's actually misleading is that everybody bashing Trump for eminent domain for "private" use supports the Keystone Pipeline.
A lot of eminent domain will be needed to build that wall. Deal with it.
