.....By then Libya's temporary government, the National Transitional Council, had moved from Benghazi to Tripoli, where the American embassy had been reopened. At the time, other governments were moving their missions out of Benghazi, and there had been talk of winding down the American mission. Yet Stevens-who had served as U.S. representative to the National Transitional Council from March to November 2011 and would be sworn in as ambassador to Libya in May 2012-did not know what was planned for the Benghazi mission. [Susan] Brooks [R-IN] asked:
[Stevens] was in Washington, D.C., or back in the States during that time, and in December Ambassador Stevens, your soon-to-be ambassador, didn't know what was going to happen with the compound in Benghazi. How is that possible?....
Clinton offered a jarring response:
Well, Congresswoman, one of the great attributes that Chris Stevens had was a really good sense of humor. And I just see him smiling as he's typing this. Because it is clearly in response to the email down below talking about picking up a few, quote, "fire-sale items" from the Brits.
This comment comes out of nowhere. Why mention Stevens's sense of humor in response to a serious question about the future of the mission?....... Seemingly taken aback, Brooks noted that the fire sale actually referred to barricades the British were selling at cut-rate prices because they and "other countries [were] pulling out" of Benghazi, and American diplomats were looking to buy "because we weren't providing enough physical security for the compound."
Clinton responded: "Well, I thought it showed their entrepreneurial spirit, Congresswoman.....I applaud them for doing so." Given that over the next year Clinton's State Department would fail to provide sufficient security for the compound, this was a cold-blooded statement........

Of course she botched. That’s why nothing has been said how she did. If she was good or exceeded all reasonable expectations, we would have never heard the end of how well she did.
Bump for later
Benghazi ping.
Let Republicanprofessor know if you want on or off this ping list.
The full article is excellent.
Not at the hearing....but especialy when she sat in the SOS office.
Why? Is she brain-chipped? Can't utter anything that wont cover her sorry ***.
That's in addition to the Clinton money-grubbing---she found out early-on, the Foundation collected bigtime when she "talked nice," even about the world's most brutal dictators.
As FReeper Harley lady insightfully posted earlier WRT the State Dept's gun-running:
When Putin finds the arms that were sent from Venezuela to Benghazi to Syria to overthrow Assad, Putin should go to the Hague and demand they bring action against the Government of the United States...including every House and Senator and government official that was involved in this...
(And that goes for Obama and Hillary, as well.)
The problem with this kind of logical, well-reasoned analysis is that people vote emotionally. Trump is evidence of this and so is every Democrat candidate ever.
The Dems are founded on the visceral, emotional response. It’s Democrats who most bitterly oppose Democrat operative Rahm Emmanuel. Yet, they elected him.
The worse thing we ever did is expand the voting franchise. The by limiting the voting franchise to propertied, successful people you get less government and that’s the goal. Hillary! will be the Dem nominee and all this Vince Foster stuff (aka Benghazi) will be called old news and scoffed at by a billion dollar media machine called “the press”.
I think Hillary’s being cast as the little “victim” in
all of this. Like, “those nasty old Republicans are
picking on poor little me”.
With help from her willing accomplices in the media,
she’s coming out of all this smelling like a rose;
all the while throwing her real stink over on those
“mean old Republicans”.
Here’s my take. Hillary got SecState as a consolation prize for not creating a messy floor fight at the convention. But she was never permitted full-reign over diplomatic activities as Barak Obama began appointing “special envoys” and such in all countries & regions that were of particular interest to him. Islamic countries were at the top of the list, so Hillary, while informed as to what was going on, had little control over events.
I think the Benghazi Committee knows this. Hillary is twisting in the wind while the real guilty parties, Obama & Jarrett, skate. If Hillary is ever president — which I doubt — she will be a wholly owned subsidiary of Obama. He has the goods on her and is playing her like a chess grandmaster.
Hillary Clinton Mixed Business (Libya Violence) with Pleasure (Home Decor), Emails Show
$1500.00 Ralph Lauren swing-arm wall sconces took priority.
And this didn't phase the Hildabeast during questions (from main article of this FR thread):
.....Clinton lost interest in Libya after Qaddafi fell......Brooks produced the most striking illustration of Clinton's lack of interest. She showed a stack of 795 Clinton emails about Libya from February 2011 through December 2011 and compared it with the paltry 67 Clinton emails in 2012. "In this pile in 2011, I see daily updates, sometimes......hourly updates from your staff about Benghazi and [U.S. representative in Libya] Chris Stevens. When I look at this pile in 2012, I only see a handful of emails to you from your senior staff about Benghazi."
Nov 4, 2015: Clinton Foundation group under fire for tax discrepancies
"Republicans are demanding an IRS audit of a Boston-based arm of the Clinton Foundation. The group is under fire after admitting to errors in its tax forms that covered up millions in foreign donations, then walking back a pledge to refile its returns..............
"Any agency of a foreign government and any state-owned corporation would fall under the memorandum's requirements.
CHAI and the Clinton Foundation began filing separate tax returns after 2010, but the provisions of the agreement reportedly still applied to CHAI.
Foreign contributions make up a significant portion of CHAI's cash flow, which made it a key concern of the White House prior to Clinton's confirmation.
Five of the seven donors listed as having given more than $25 million to CHAI are affiliated with foreign governments, according to the group's list of contributors from 2010 to Sept. 2015."...............
The month prior to the convention...Hillary was finished and the best she could arrange was for VP or Sec of State. In terms of the Foundation....the Sec of State position is the one that will pay into the pot, so she accepts that.
As for diplomatic activities....other than speeches...there’s nothing really accomplished over four years, and you are correct....special envoys played a major role in the Obama administration. As for Benghazi...Obama had no envoys watching this type problem and it was solely on her plate to handle...which she botched ten times over.
This administration owes her nothing, nor the Foundation...and I just don’t see how helping her would pay or help them in the future. It’s best to help get Carson in the position....let him win on 2016 and lose on 2020....allowing the Obama Foundation now play a role in 2020’s election, and watching the Clinton Foundation finally sink.
What, you mean wiped it with rag?
In other venues, this would be called contempt.
The MSM in 2008 kept the candidacy of John Edwards viable (despite his bastard child) long enough to keep Hillary in a three way race for delegates, unable to secure the nomination.
Hillary must have some kind of huge rag pile by now - must be what she uses to make all those rugs the MSM keeps sweeping all the Clinton corruption under.
EXCELLENT point.
CLINTON HAS LOTS OF BLOOD ON HER HANDS
The lack of super-delegates collapsed her campaign.
It’s the same issue now for Jeb....he has the super-delegate count in his pocket, but he can’t win any state beyond Florida. It’d look awful screwy for him to show up and win the convention with one state and a boatload of super-delegates.
Imagine what she would do to settle scores if she became president? It’s too awful to comprehend.
