Democrats Blame 'Trump-Mania' for Matt Bevin Victory in Kentucky

Democrats stunned by Matt Bevin's victory in the race for Kentucky governor blamed "Trump-mania" for the Tea Party candidate's unlikely 53%-44% win over Democrat Jack Conway.

"Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians: good schools, good-paying jobs and economic opportunity," said Elisabeth Pearson, executive director of the Democratic Governors Association, in an official statement on the results.

Pearson added: "Unfortunately, he ran into the unexpected headwinds of Trump-mania, losing to an outsider candidate in the year of the outsider. While Jack Conway came up just short tonight, his presence in this race strengthened the issues debate in Kentucky."

Well, don’t tell that to Trump.
We’ll never hear the end of it.
Just kidding.
We’ll never hear the end of it.

Hey that’s great. Trump is getting the credit for Bevin’s win. Or did I read that the DEMS are blaming him? LOL Seems Trump has coattails already and he isn’t even the nominee - (yet). It’s a win/win for us and a lose/lose for them. We won - you lost! (remember who said that back in 2008)? I guess these doofuses don’t realize that Kentuckians are tired of politics as usual.

My hope is this is only the beginning. But I am severely discouraged by election results here in Colorado tonight. Seems every progressive harebrained initiative and recall passed with big margins. Sucks!

As long as the libs and the GOPe continue to view Trump Mania as an ‘unexpected headwind’, they’ll just continue to ‘misunderestimate’ the motivated voters.

It’s always better to be underestimated than overestimated.

Well, the title did say that it was the dimwads who were “blaming” Trump mania. They and the GOPe would never credit Trump for anything good that happens.

Stunned Democrats fear Trump?

They should because if Conway lost decisively when rigged MSM polls showed him winning big, take the polls about Hillary’s lead with a grain of salt.

The truth is every one expected Bevin to lose so this is huuge!

And Kentucky has elected only two GOP Governors in the last 36 years.

"Attorney General Jack Conway ran a strong campaign focused on the issues that matter to Kentuckians

Oh yes - a campaign almost entirely saturating the airwaves constantly claiming Bevin wants to do away with "early childhood education" and doing calls claiming he wants to "drug test Medicare recipients", etc. Absolute bunk. The issues did matter to Kentuckians and Conway's liberal policies were soundly rejected.

These people of full of boloney and deserved to lose - and lose they did. It's just unfortunate they managed to very narrowly hold on to those two offices as they deserved to lose it all.

Join the club. Pennsylvania just elected a Democrat Supreme Court majority that is going to control the next round of redistricting. Goes well with our Democrap governor and our Democrap Attorney General who is under indictment and had her law license suspended.

While Jack Conway came up just short tonight

Just short? He lost by 9 points, 53-44 - that's more than "just short."

lol!

Trump is a one-man echo chamber.

Which, for him, is a very valuable asset. :)

Can't be. Trump has already peaked and faded.

It must be Marco Rubio's coattails...

I really don't understand the "Trump-mania" aspect at all. I was in the grassroots campaigning for Mr. Bevin, and NEVER heard the name Trump mentioned. This race was strictly about grassroots activism. I even heard GOP establishment hacks and RPK elitists whine over and over that "Bevin will be sorry that he didn't ask for our help." No, Bevin did not beg or grovel before the establishment and, thus, owes them nothing. If anything, this was "Sinatra-mania" because Bevin did it his way.

My guess is that I won't get to have any more private one-on-one conversations with Bevin at the local deli on Sundays, where I would coincidentally run into him and his beautiful family. But that's okay, because he is going to be really busy trying to clean up the mess in this state.
