There is no reason people need air conditioning. We got by just fine in the 1800’s without them.

Right. Let's get rid of automobiles, electricity, gas grills, MRIs, microwave ovens and coffeemakers too. People did just fine without those in the olden days.

I don't understand the irrational hatred of inventions that improve our standard of living. I thought it was the liberals who seeth with anger at seeing humans have any comfort or pleasure.

I loathe hot weather, and I cherish air conditioning and have, in the depths of a humid over one hundred degree summer afternoon, asked God to bless the person or persons who invented it.

EPA be damned.

Lots of people died of heat “apoplexy” back then. I believe it was heat stroke. Gingham gowns, heavy petticoats on the women. Long Johns and long pants on the men.

Others died of “Acute Indigestion” which I believe was really a heart attack.

Maybe so, but using them is a perk of an industrial society. I will keep mine, thank you very much.

We didn't have flush toilets in the 1800s either. Do you want to go back to the out house?

We didn't have decent surgical procedures in the 1800s. Do you think that was a better form of life? Why, penicillin wasn't available until the early 1900s. Does the 1800s really appeal to you?

You need to screw on your thinking cap.

[[We got by just fine in the 1800’s without them.]]

Actually no they didn’t- many elderly and sick people succumbed to the heat- Air conditioners save lives-

The whole reason the epa wants to go after air conditioners is to eliminate more elderly and sick people- undesirables as the left like to think of htem
