Many years ago, a candidate for the Presidency, Adlai Stevenson, proclaimed that “there would come a day when a candidate for office will be elected not on his stainless record, but on his prison record.”

I guess that is because thugs get things done.

Democrats have been courting the criminal element for a long time. Gives them a sort of surrogate street cred and the appearance of “toughness”.
