Putin is winning so why not throw some American soldiers in the way so if they get killed, Obama makes Russia look bad.
Putin will call that collateral damage, and keep on going.
The Russian people may or may not get that story.
Since it will be dead Americans, the Russians may not care, as they blame the O-Gang for starting this mess in the first place. Many countries outside the U.S. think that Obama started something (Syrian Spring Uprising of 2011) he lacked the will and the wisdom to properly finish.
