Donald Trump grabbed many of us with his immigration hole-shot. His all-purpose chlorine bleach burn-outs wiping out political correctness have been equally spectacular-not just for the strutting, but for calling out to the NHRA grandstand-crowd, the erstwhile silent disenfranchised majority.
All Donald had to do was keep his front end under control. Wheelies can be entertaining, but they usually lead to the wrong end of a bill of sale.
But no: Trump couldn't resist cracking open the nitrous bottle when he should have pinched the valve and locked it away in the trunk. Soon enough, our quarter-mile rooster will need a tow back to the trailer apron.
First he dissed God. Now he's dissed non-conformist Christians. In the meantime, he dissed property rights, the handmaiden to religious liberty. C'mon, Donald-what's wrong with you, man?

When Donald disparages Ben Carson's faith, and Carson's longstanding adherence to the doctrines of Seventh-Day Adventists, Trump trashes the core of American exceptionalism-religious liberty and religious toleration. Haven't we seen enough of that from Obama?
Liberty and limited government were envisioned and launched by non-conformist religious sects-or, as Trump harrumphs, "fringe denominations."

While Trump's disdain for religious diversity is bad enough, he assaults the accompanying bedrock of American liberty-the right to private property. This is no benign musing of narrow circumstances, where eminent domain via the Takings Clause of the Fifth Amendment occasionally elbows out due process for purposes of "common good."

Just looked it up to make sure. The supreme court case was founded on a case brought by the JW. But neither celebrate holidays or pledge to anything but Religion. There is also a question regarding being CIC if he chose to opt out of serving for religious objection. Something that needs to be investigated IMO. I like Dr Ben. He has always been on my short list, but since he and Trump have been friends for decades and their florida homes share the same zip code I have always seen the two of them working the early primaries in the same manner as the GOPee has for decades. The author lies and decries about Trump trashing Carson’s religion(he didn’t. He just expressed the fact he didn’t know about it.) and then proceeds to call Trump’s Presbyterian faith “contemporary” and “pedestrian mush.” He then states Trump has “disdain” for religious diversity. Fail.
The author waxes historical hysterical in order to obscure some facts that are much nearer to hand and much more relevant. He intimates that Trump will be unable to deport illegals as he has promised and will use the Takings Clause to find space for them. The author should get his nose out of ancient history tomes and see what our illustrious President is doing with his phone and his pen. Thousands upon thousands of illegals are being plunked down in unsuspecting neighborhoods all over this country and it’s going to represent enormous cultural implications. Trump has said he will stop this, not advance it. Too late to ever blame that on Trump. Fail.
As for Carson’s humility; well, he brags about it constantly and in various venues and interviews. He also takes full credit for being the first doctor to separate Siamese twins while conveniently forgetting that some seventy other talented doctors and surgeons were also just as much contributors to the success as he. He insulted and demeaned victims of violence by intimating that he would have been braver by charging the perpetrator.
As for changing positions; the one example that immediately comes to mind is Carson’s intimation that he deplores Planned Parenthood’s harvesting of fetal tissue while failing to mention that he used it in his own research and wrote an acclaimed paper on it.
And here’s my take, (Insightful?) Dr. Carson’s “rise” in the polls has been attributed mostly to Evangelicals(Carson humbly muses it’s women). A large percentage of Evangelicals view Carson’s Adventist faith with suspicion; too many to allow that premise to carry much weight. Carson’s rise in the polls and supposed support can’t be readily explained. Carson most likely has backers that prefer to remain anonymous on the grounds that their identity may incriminate him.
History? Someone or a lot of someone’s had better get serious about finding out just what Carson’s history and past affiliations really are before we wind up with another media anointed, stealth Liberal in the White House. When something like this poorly written sham of an article shows up on a supposedly Conservative website, it stinks of underground politics.
This article is just dumb.
Criticising someone else’s religion isn’t an attack on freedom of religion, it IS freedom of religion.
Cruz is not GOPe enough.

Trump has also gone to other churches over the years. My pastor has seen him in the audience of David Jeremiah’s church.
