The United States sent 35 advisors to Vietnam in May 1950.
My Dad was one of the later ones.
I remember standing with him in front of the Infantry school in Benning, `66, and some one he knew stopped us and asked him if he was looking forward to “working on his tan”.
He replied, “Yeah, and I’ve been practicing walking on my knees.”
