I am all for saying Merry Christmas but I don’t see it as a war on Christmas as in the 50’s and 60’s many stores put Happy Holidays and nobody thought to complain about it.
But in the 50’s and 60’s you weren’t forbidden to say Merry Christmas. It was a choice.
Some stores forbid their employees from saying it now.
Really??? In the 50âs and 60âs people didn’t say Merry Christmas???
What he’s sayin goes a bit deeper than just store advertisements. Btw, in the 50s and part of the 60s this was actually a united country compared to what it is today.

I seem to recall Merry Xmas being used a lot. Didn't like it then and don't like it know.
Happy Kwanza is cool though.
But back then “Happy Holidays” hadn’t displaced “Merry Christmas.”
In the Bing Crosby/Fred Astaire movie “Holiday Inn,” (1945) there were songs for many holidays—like Lincoln’s Birthday, Thanksgiving, Easter—and “White Christmas.” At the end of the film was the song “Happy Holidays.” In 1954, “Holiday Inn” was remade as “White Christmas.”
Nice of you to pull your head out of the sand, or wherever, long enough to post that ignorant comment. There is a socialist establishment on Christmas, has been for decades now. Ok, now you can go back to sllep.
