The fact that Trump is NOT a politician, but IS a SUCCESSFUL businessman is the reason so many people like him. WE are SICK to DEATH of Politicians!

It is not a fact that Trump is not a politician. It is an opinion. Is Karl Rove a politician? If no, then perhaps Trump is not a politician, but a politician is someone who uses politics to their advantage.

Here are some definitions:

politician:

Politician (Page: 108)
Pol`i*ti”cian (?), n. [Cf. F. politicien.]

1. One versed or experienced in the science of government; one devoted to politics; a statesman.

While empiric politicians use deceit. Dryden.

2. One primarily devoted to his own advancement in public office, or to the success of a political party; — used in a depreciatory sense; one addicted or attached to politics as managed by parties (see Politics, 2); a schemer; an intriguer; as, a mere politician.

Like a scurvy politician, seem To see the things thou dost not. Shak.

The politician . . . ready to do anything that he apprehends for his advantage. South.

Pol`i*ti”cian, a. Cunning; using artifice; politic; artful. Ill-meaning politician lords.” Milton.

POLITI’’CIAN, a. Cunning; using artifice.

POLITI’’CIAN,n. One versed in the science of government and the art of governing; one skilled in politics.

1. A man of artifice or deep contrivance.

The definition is clear: Trump is a politician - a man of artifice or deep contrivance. Trump’s entire life is political and his mouth proves it. It describes him to a ‘t’ or is it ‘T’?

Next is the false assertion that he is a “successful” businessman. It depends on your measure of success. If having a billion in assets is the standard, then yes he is. If managing the fortune one inherited such that it grew, then yes. But if “successful” is measured by the objective yard stick of the average stock market gain, then no Trump is not a successful businessman.

Trump inherited approx. $100 million in 1972. The stock market average gain (this number is the measure that money or asset managers are measured against as it is the average of all the competing sources of gain) over those 43 years is 10.4%. That calculation shows that Trump underperformed by at least half.

Trump didn’t manage his own money better than the average stock market investor. At best he’s a below average investor/businessman because his capital would have gained more out of his hands than in them, but then we have to determine how he made his wealth.

Developers are notoriously political as a zoning change can add a zero to the value of a property that increase it by a factor of ten. Casino developers are among the most political because they must deal with a broad range of government agencies to gain licensing. Therefore Trump most likely achieve his underachievement via politics and didn’t “earn” it all himself.

Trump - no sale.
