Americans aren't giving up their guns
Pittsburgh Tribune Review ^ | October 26, 2015 | John R Lott Jr

Despite several years of Michael Bloomberg and others spending hundreds of millions of dollars attacking the NRA, a new Gallup poll shows that non-gun owners have a favorable opinion of the NRA (by 7 percentage points). Moderates are even 17 percentage points more likely to have a favorable opinion.

Overall, the NRA has a significantly more favorable image than either President Obama or Hillary Clinton.

Yet, according to Adam Winkler in The Washington Post, the NRA will inevitably decline in power.

The claim is a simple one: Gun ownership is greatest among rural whites, a group whose voting power is diminishing.

The theory isn't new. Tom Smith, director of the General Social Survey, told me in 1997 that the large drop in gun ownership shown by his poll would “make it easier for politicians to do the right thing on guns.” According to Smith's survey, the percentage of homes with a gun has fallen fairly continuously since the 1970s — from approximately 50 percent to 32 percent earlier this year.

But other surveys by . . . .

Yes, I suppose so.
Although, it would be quite imaginable that someday one of the dictator type political hacks or puppets....might make a try for it, thinking that he or she would somehow magically escape the carnage....

not only are some politicians narssicists, some of them seem to believe their are above human status...and even Divine or above Divine status... right nice little Caesers, really....

do you imagine that some of them with such warped attitudes maybe think that bullets would just bounce right off them? most self-designated-’gods’ ... throughout history... seem to have thought so

You are correct. The Correlation is damning.

Okay, thanks for the clarification. Sometimes I’m just a bit slow on the uptake! Enjoy!

If they decide to confiscate, where is the last place they would go door to door? If you said inner city you win. Can you imagine what would happen in this country if only the members of the inner city owned guns?

You are so right, mad_as_he$$...

On the ‘Net, I’ve seen stripped lowers for as little as $40, lower parts kits for less than $50, and uppers complete with bolt carrier group and charging handle for under $300...

Pays to shop around if you need to get by as cheap as possible...Many are barely scraping by thanks to this FUBO economy, and just don’t have the coin to buy a top-line in the box AR...

Brownells has a step by step tutorial video series for assembly...The average handy guy CAN build his own IF he can pay attention, follow instructions, and improvise a bit...If not, don’t try this approach...

Still all time low prices as you said...Then buy a few spare parts, tools for maintenance and ammo with what’s left over...

Taking spectre gunships to the gray havens with all that is left of their kin?

This is fun to mentally toy with.
Thanks tumblin!
