CNBC Disaster Debate: Full Republican Debate Grades
The Daily Wire ^ | 10/28/2015 | Ben Shapiro

Posted on 10/29/2015 4:24:33 AM PDT by grimalkin

In what had to rank as the worst presidential debate in modern history, CNBC anchors berated, cut off, and skewed the words of Republican candidates over the course of two hours on Wednesday night. In spite of - and in the case of Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and Chris Christie, among others, because of - that horrifically biased moderation, Republicans emerged looking better for wear. They needed to show they had elbows, and many of them did.

Without further ado, here are the debate grades.

If Rubio was 6'4" (and joined the Hair Club for Men) he would be so far out in front no one could ever catch him. He'll be right there until the end, regardless. Excellent performance last night.

We conservatives love Cruz - and deservedly so - but I can see how he come across like a TV evangelist to some. He needs to lose a little weight and try to deliver some of his humor in the genuinely warm style of Ronald Reagan. "Smarter than everybody else" doesn't win Presidential elections.

Christie is like the guy at the local bar who shouts at the TV whenever Hillary comes on. I think the public can relate to him - too bad he governs less conservatively than he talks. Boosted his VP prospects last night, if that's the direction he wants to go.

Fiorina says all the right things, but lacks warmth. She's like that CEO who goes to a company function and has to spend two hours mingling with the employees...but you know she can't stand them and can't wait to get away and back to her office. Even Hillary knows how to act like a more pleasant personality on stage.

Paul just lacks the look and the charisma to deliver his very important messages in this kind of debate. He would make a better economics professor than a politician. Heading up a Senate committee to investigate the Fed is the best role for him.

Carson is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just not Presidential material.

Kasich is the wrong man in the wrong place at the wrong time. Just not Presidential material.

And Trump will still win. He is the antidote to American politics. People who haven't voted since Reagan left office will come out to vote for him - and I actually think it might be enough this time to overcome growing Democrat vote fraud in battleground states. I don't think the MSM or the DNC or the GOPe have any idea how large the groundswell of (white) public opinion opposed to them is.

Huckabee is a nice enough guy with a good sense of humor. But he's not "A" list. I've always referred to him as "Huckleberry".

I just can't envision a President Huckleberry in the WH.

I too was watching channel CUETO not CNBC.

I think they said that Cueto's complete game was the first by any pitcher in a World Series game since 1991.

Johnny Dreads is not my favorite pitcher but he was awesome last night. I wasn’t sure at first if he’d make it past the fourth inning but he pulled it together and just simply dominated.

I watched a good movie on TV last evening and only flipped to the debate during commercials. But from what I saw, Ben Shapiro's post-debate report card is spot-on. Shouty McScreamypants is the best nickname for Kasisch I've seen. Very funny.

BTW, I predicted (and I was not the only one who did so) that the RNC made a big mistake letting Leftist CNBC moderate this debate in of all places, the USSR of Colorado at Boulder. I was wrong. It was not just a mistake but an unmitigated disaster for CNBC. As a result, I think the Republicans came out smelling like roses in comparison to the stinkweed odor emanating from the moderators, all arrogant, condescending liberals themselves.

The Clinton machine worked overtime to defeat Huck in Arkansas. Despite them, he won two elections as Lt Governor and two as Governor
The Dems were so furious when he won Lt Gov. They nailed his office door shut from the inside, removed all the office furniture and equipment and spent every penny of his operating budget for the year. He finally got into his office two months after being elected because the citizens were so pissed off about it. Gov Jim Guy Tucker(the Clinton’s Whitewater felon) wouldn’t lift a finger to help him get into his office..

Oh, and Tucker worked for the Rose Law Firm of which Hillary and Vince Foster were partners.

And there it is! There's that inside connection. Thanks!

John Kasich: F. Shouty McScreamypants came out in full force, with Kasich leading off the debate by calling his colleagues insane, and concluding by saying Americans should come together.

That is just HILARIOUS. :^D

I agree with Shapiro's debate grades and enjoyed his write-up. Thanks for posting it!

Wow!I knew the Clinton Crew pulled stuff on GW Bush when they left the WH but, I’ve never heard all this. I guess Huckabee does deserve to say he went up against the Clintons and survived!

I bet he’s closer-to or over 450. For a guy who attended 100+ bruce springfield concerts and cried when bruce called him...what do you expect? Something is seriously wrong with him.

I think I get CNBC on my satellite lineup, but it has been relegated to the “never watch” list that doesn’t show up in the channel guide.

The candidates are not even announcing when the RNC sets up these deals. As much as Rinse was whining last night, he is ultimately the one person responsible for it. Its amazing, in less than two years, I have gone from a local REC member to a fire from my eyes hater of everything establishment.

I share that point of view. This mistake ended up paying dividends beyond even unreasonable expectation!

You can bet that the press is gaming this, and attempting to come up with a playbook to counteract.

IMO, Trump is the reason the candidates (except Cruz who was always bold) found their spine and guts last night when it comes to the not taking the BS thrown at them by the Liberal media dirtbags. Preibus is at fault for allowing this debate in Colorado hosted by Liberal vermin.

I give Trump lots of credit, and as you point out, Cruz is direct and clear in opposition to even subtle bias. But they aren't the only ones who are comfortable telling off a moderator. Christie has been bombastic forever, and Huckabee knows the game because he's played inside the media playground for years.

His mistake has cost CNBC tons of credibility, got "Hillary is a liar" out in the open (in spite of the media's black-hole on that fact), and was another experience where the candidates got to practice teamwork in exposing the press as Democrat shills.

Give me more failures and mistakes like that one!

Next debate they should rig the podium to collapse under his weight. That would be awesome.

.

Ben Carson's debate debacle was his own fault ... he was awful ...

Asked if he was associated with the Harlic (sp) nutrition supplememt, Ben carson said the question was an example of media propaganda ...

... and then INCREDIBLY said that he had given two (paid) speeches for the Harlic (sp) company.

I'm sorry. But where I come from taking money from a company in exchange for paid speeches is "indeed" being associated with the company.

Worse still, Ben Carson ended that line of debate questioning with a shit-eating smile that appeared that he didn't give a damn about being truthful.
